About

Starting Fall 2026, I am Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Kansas State University. In Spring 2026, I received my PhD in philosophy from the University of Connecticut. My areas of specialization are ethics, both theoretical and applied (including medical ethics, environmental ethics, and AI ethics), and aesthetics

At Western Michigan University, Connecticut College, the University of Connecticut, and Kansas State University, I've taught a wide variety of undergraduate courses.

These range from introductory courses in ethics (including medical ethics and environmental ethics), introduction to philosophy, and introductory courses in critical thinking, logic, and the history of philosophy, to upper division courses in ethics (including medical ethics, environmental ethics, and AI ethics), philosophy of art, political philosophy, philosophy of law, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of language.

There are two main threads to my research.

The first is an interdisciplinary research program in the ethics of emerging technologies with a particular emphasis on how new technologies impact social practices of labor, art, and education. The second emerges from my dissertation, "Signaling Virtue: Ethics and Self-Expression," and concerns expressive arguments in ethics. That is, how considerations regarding what our actions say about us should factor into our ethical evaluations.
